Powder Puff Football as defined by the Urban Dictionary is a ONCE A YEAR event in which High School girls teams compete in a game of flag football.  If you’ve ever been to one it takes all of 30 seconds to realize that these young ladies are FIERCE and extremely passionate about the game. The problem is that once the game is over it’s another full year before they can experience that intensity again and prior to their High School years there really isn’t any organized setting to prepare them for it.

Well, the Southington Valley Midget Football League (SVMFL) has changed all of that. Seven years ago, the idea of an all-girls Flag Football League was born and its popularity has skyrocketed since. The SVMFL Powder Puff Football League hosts a FULL 8-week regular season as well as Playoffs. The league is open to ALL girls between the ages of 8 and 17.  The SVMFL in conjunction with Town Leadership has agreed to “open up” individual and/or team registrations for the best kept secret in organized girls’ sports for ALL surrounding towns for the upcoming 2023 season!!!
